DURHAM, North Carolina — Officials were investigating after a small plane ran off the runway at a private airport in Durham County on Tuesday.

Sky 5 was over the scene of the incident at Lake Ridge Aero Park, located at 4340 E. Geer St. in Durham. The plane was on a dirt and grass runway when it somehow lost control and ended up in the bushes and trees off the runway, nose up. Members of the Durham County Sheriff's Office were at the scene investigating.

There was no word on injuries or what caused the plane to crash.
