No injuries were reported in an aircraft flip-over on Naknek Lake on Saturday night, troopers reported.

AST was notified of the aircraft accident on the lake at 9:20 pm on Saturday night by National Park Rangers.

According to the short report on the trooper dispatch, a JP12 came in for a water landing at the lake and “flipped over at the end of its landing cycle.”

National park Rangers were on hand near the Brook’s Camp in the  Katmai National Park when the incident occurred and observed the crash.

The pilot, who was the only occupant of the aircraft at the time, made it safely out of the aircraft and made it to shore with no injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified of the incident.

  1. Hi, I am the pilot, owner. Airplane rolled over during taxi, due to large swllis and tailwind gusts. Aircraft did
    not sink, floated inverted. Aircraft was righted with little damage and flown home to C29. Thanks.
