On May 29, 2018, at 1050 mountain standard time, an MD Helicopters 369FF, N975BW, was substantially damaged during a forced landing near Wikieup, Arizona. The commercial pilot was not injured. The helicopter was registered to and operated by Rogers Helicopter under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 133 external load flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan was filed.

The purpose of the flight was to assist power line construction. The pilot reported that during hover, the helicopter started to vibrate. He decided to execute a forced landing as vibrations became more prominent. The helicopter contacted the ground and the tailboom separated in two pieces. The helicopter was recovered to a secure location for further examination.
