Stewart International Airport (KSWF), Ireland West Airport to become “sisters”

STEWART AIRPORT – Officials at Stewart Airport near Newburgh and Knock Airport in County Mayo Ireland are working on becoming sister airports.

Joseph Gilmore, the managing director of Ireland West Airport in Knock was at Stewart late last week meeting with Stewart Manager Ed Harrison.

“We are talking about developing a strategic alliance between his airport and ours his country and ours to see what economic development opportunities exist and we look forward to that discussion and announcing some things in the near future,” Harrison said.

Gilmore met with top Orange County officials and attended the Orange County Partnership’s real estate summit.

At this point, Knock Airport is not one of those that Norwegian will serve from Stewart.
