On May 9, 2017, about 1630 central daylight time (CDT), a runway incursion occurred at Lakefront Airport (NEW), New Orleans, Louisiana, when a C-172, registration N520ER, was cleared to land on runway 36R and executed a go-around and overflew a PA32, registration N43WW, that was on the runway. Both airplanes were operating under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. There was no damage to either airplane and no injuries reported. Day visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the incident.
