Fatal accident occurred April 07, 2016 at Malindi Airport, Kenya

A Sudanese trainee pilot died in Malindi on Thursday after she was hit by the propeller of an aircraft she had just landed.

Nyipalla Peter, 20, bled heavily following the accident near the Malindi airstrip, and died at Tawfiq hospital.

A source at the airport, who did not want to be named, said: "The management could have intervened had there been proper measures."

Airport CID boss Jafred Mateche said a report on the accident will be released once investigations are completed.

He said the body was airlifted to Nairobi.
