Naval Aviation Training Draws Noise Complaints In Foley, Baldwin County, Alabama

FOLEY, AL- Bill and Susan Trimble moved to Foley’s Glen Lakes subdivision from Arkansas two years ago.

The Trimbles and some of their neighbors say military pilots training on the T-6 aircraft fly right over their house from the time they wake up until right before dinner.

“We had no idea there was a military facility nearby,” says Susan Trimble.

“We come down to paradise and the next thing we know, we’ve got planes flying all around us all over the place,” says Bill Trimble. “I’m not anti-military, I’m a former Naval officer.”

The pilots are using nearby Barin Field for touch and go exercises.

“We want the Navy to move their operations from Barin NOLF to somewhere where it’s not an inhabited area where they can fly and not disrupt the lives of people,” says Tom Hallberg.

The pilots that use Barin Field are stationed at NAS Whiting Field near Milton, FL. Military officials there are aware of the noise complaints and say they want to be good stewards.

Military officials say flight operations at Barin Field are in compliance with FAA regulations.

Military officials also say local realtors should let potential homebuyers know there’s an active air field in the area.

  1. Navy has been using that airport, along w/ a few others in south Alabama, for decades. Developers build near the airport , sell homes there, and then new residents complain about the noise. Happens all over the country. Price of freedom?

  2. Ya you must be one of the *&^%$#@* doing it. Frankly I have been living here for over 20 years and it has never been like this b4. I am suffering from a rare blood cancer and I can't even relax and recoup from treatment in my own home. Everyday, all day, right over my property, low, fast, and loud. The equivalent to me hot rodding my car in front of their houses all day. All that airspace over the water and in non populated areas, but no, lets do it right over the people and tread on them all day long. After all its what the government officials do best right, tread all over the people and abuse their authority. I am sick and livid with it, and something is going to get done (nice letter to the congressman with a huge petition of complaints). THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS I AM OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS AND THEIR ARE NO AIRPORTS NEARBY, its just them doing what the hell they want to and they are everywhere and all over the place. Just another military accident waiting to happen. They %&$# up and then next thing you know they crash in a highly populated area. Doesn't sound to safe at all, in fact it is not. It is disturbing the peace and putting people at risk! GO PLAY OVER THE GULF ON OUR TAX DOLLARS!

  3. LMAO, “vengeance is mine” saith the Lord! Looks as though Karma has hit the Navy again. All the disrespectful navy operations over all the Baldwin County property owners has been paid for in full. The program has been suspended indefinitely and it sure has been peaceful here lately! WTF they get for training foreign nationals how to be fighter pilots OVER OUR PROPERTY at the expense of OUR PEACE and OUR DIME ! That’s right, you people forget whom it is you serve “The People” not yourselves. I’ve read your fighter pilots little air warriors.com blogs on the whole Baldwin county navy plane noise complaints issue and I have seen first hand just what kind of arrogant, disrespectful low lifes we have supposedly protecting us. Freedom is only a door people! We don’t need arrogant, disrespectful kids that don’t even know enough about life yet , learning how to fly fighter jets. I would like to know how in the hell you people plan on “protecting” us when you can’t even protect yourselves from your own evil yet alone have respect for your fellow Americans. Always using the excuse of “ national security “ always using the excuse of “ PTSD”. Why don’t you people move your operations over your own community? Oh that’s right, the crime rate in Escambia county Florida is one of the highest in the country. Makes sense seeing how there is a naval base there. After all it does require the establishment of a specialized investigative entity “ NCIS “ to keep all the government trained psychopaths in check. In order to understand what is happening, you really need to have a broad perspective on what it is you are doing instead of being caught up in all the denial, lack of accountability, and belief that you are doing something good. Keep growing your empire until it is no longer manageable and the next thing you know you will be fighting yourselves. I will be living in peace, watching and shaking my head from the sideline. Just a little insight of the relationship the US navy has with neighboring communities and property owners that are sick of being used and abused.
