A plane was forced to make an emergency landing Monday afternoon after reports of engine failure.

It happened at the intersection of Squirrel Creek Road and Ellicott Highway, south of Ellicott.

The plane was able to land safely and no one was injured.

It's not clear who the plane belongs to.

A single-engine plane experiencing engine problems made an emergency landing Monday afternoon on a highway in eastern El Paso County, according to the Sheriff's Office.

No one was hurt.

The aircraft safely landed about 3:50 p.m. on Ellicott Highway at Squirrel Creek Road, just south of Ellicott, said Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby.

It is unknown how many people were on the plane.
