Holiday travelers can keep their shoes on, their coats on and their belts on when flying from Reno starting on Monday.
The Transportation Security Administration is set to offer a temporary location where travelers can enroll in the TSA Pre-Check program at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, officials said Friday in a news release.
TSA officials had announced earlier this month that the existing pre-check at Fingerprinting Express would no longer process applicants after Friday.
The new interim pre-check site will be at the airport’s ticket counter, between Allegiant and Delta Air Lines, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, airport officials said.
The pre-check program allows for faster screening for frequent travelers. Interested applicants, who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, can pre-enroll at www.tsa.gov and set up an appointment or walk in to the center.

Bring your documentation providing proof of identity and citizenship status such as a passport.
The application fee is $85 and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check or a certified or cashier’s check. Cash and personal check will not be accepted.
After completing enrollment, applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number through the mail within 45 days. That number is valid for five years. The applicant should enter the provided number when booking travel reservations.
