Incident occurred December 19, 2015 at Greenville Spartanburg International Airport (KGSP), Greer, South Carolina



According to a member of the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, a plane headed from Montreal to Atlanta was diverted after the pilot reported a problem with one of the engines Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews from various departments, as well as the GSP response crew, were ready to assist with any issues related to the unscheduled landing of Delta flight 5035, but the pilots were fortunately able to land the plane safely.

There were 76 people on board the flight, and none were injured.

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A plane carrying 76 people was forced to make an emergency landing at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

Rosylin Weston, a spokesperson for the airport, said a pilot reported engine problems around 3:06 p.m. on Saturday.

The flight landed safely at 3:19 p.m. First responders were on standby waiting for the plane to arrive in case of emergency, but no assistance was needed.

Weston said 72 passengers were on board with four crew members. The flight, Delta 5035, was en route from Montreal to Atlanta.
