Incident occurred November 12, 2015 at Salt Lake City International Airport (KSLC), Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Officials say a small private plane with only a pilot aboard has made an emergency landing at Salt Lake City International Airport after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.

Airport spokeswoman Bianca Shreeve says the pilot landed the plane safely and there were no injuries reported.

Shreeve did not have details about where the plane was headed or if it was arriving or departing when the pilot reported smoke around 8 a.m.

The aircraft landed on the side of the airport where corporate and charter planes fly. It's separate from the area where commercial flights take off and land.

Shreeve says airport operations were not interrupted by the emergency landing.

She says investigators will examine plane.
