Selfies at a Distance: Robinson R44 Raven II, N443MM, incident occurred October 14, 2015 in Chicago's Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A helicopter made an emergency landing in the parking lot of the Menard's in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

The pilot noticed an oil leak around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and had to land the Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter immediately.

The rotorcraft landed safely outside the store in the 2600-block of North Clybourn Avenue, without any visible damage.

No one was hurt.

Federal Aviation Administration officials told police the pilot was flying from O'Hare International Airport to Peoria, Illinois.

The pilot is from Hennepin, Illinois.

The tail number shows the helicopter is registered to Rotor Holdings LLC, a company headquartered in Hampton, New Hampshire.

Police officers are guarding the area around the helicopter Thursday morning to keep people at a distance. They're trying to take selfies in front of it.

Police said a helicopter company from Peoria will be coming out later on Thursday to remove the chopper.
