With community support, Enloe Medical Center’s FlightCare has obtained a new helicopter. It will be shown to the public at 2 p.m. Saturday outside the Chico Air Museum. 165 Ryan Ave., a hangar at Chico Municipal Airport.
Enloe FlightCare will begin its 30th year of air ambulance service with this helicopter: a single-engine EC130 T2 EcoStar, it’s quieter, with the latest in aviation safety technology, new medical equipment, and a roomier cabin.
The helicopter is expected to be certified and mission ready in early February, following a month of pilot flight training and medical crew orientation, as well as certification and approval by the Federal Aviation Administration.
