NORFOLK -- If you see smoke and fire near Naval Station Norfolk Wednesday morning, don't be alarmed. It's only a drill.
The Navy is conducting an off-airfield aircraft mishap drill. It's from 9 a.m. to noon at 90th Street and Hampton Blvd. at the Fleet Rec Park Aquatic Center, Building FRP-12.
An aircraft fire trainer will be used, which is why flames will be visible, the Navy said.
Officials say the base does different drills every couple of months.
