Potsdam Village Mayor to sign lease for private hangar • Potsdam Municipal Airport/Damon Field (KPTD), New York

POTSDAM — Airport plans moved forward for LaValle Transportation Monday, as Potsdam Village Board members voted unanimously to authorize Village Mayor Steven W. Yurgartis to sign a lease for the company’s new private hangar.

Once signed, the lease with the local trucking company — which concerns land for a new private hangar at Damon Field — will be effective from Oct. 2014 to May 2015.

According to Village Administrator David H. Fenton, Owner Randy L. LaValley will construct the hangar, which will be used for aircraft for a charter business.

Once built, the business plans to make private aircraft available to customers intending to travel by jet to nationwide destinations.

The charter service will be a secondary use of company aircraft, which transport Mr. LaValley and other company staff on business trips.

Also in the new hangar, the business will employ an aircraft mechanic to maintain the planes, who will be available to other airport tenants.
