A local drone-cam operator’s catching a lot of flak today after he lost his DJI Phantom Vision on top of AT&T Stadium. And it’s not because he lost his expensive toy.
Per Federal Aviation Administration operating standards,
model aircraft operators cannot “fly model aircraft higher than 400
feet above the surface.” AT&T Stadium’s only about 300 feet tall, so
no problem there — other than the fact he was also in violation of
another FAA rule that says model aircraft must keep a “sufficient
distance from populated areas.”
