Students graduate from General Daniel "Chappie" James Flight Academy : Ferguson Airport (82J), Pensacola, Florida

Graduates of the General Daniel "Chappie" James Flight Academy took to the air today at Ferguson Field in Pensacola. The program is run by four local pilots who wanted to share the joys of flying with young people.

The lucky few who are able to get spots in the week-long class go on field trips and learn some aviation basics.

Then they get to fly in an airplane themselves, with a licensed pilot of course.

The program has even influenced what some kids want to be when they grow up.

"I want to be a doctor, an actress or a singer but if I can't make any of those I guess I will try to go into aviation," said Flight Academy student Amber Lee. "The children really stepped up and went the extra mile, and we got a lot of things done," said instructor Michael Fowlkes.
