Anonymous call sends law enforcement to Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport (KDIK), North Dakota

DICKINSON, N.D. -- An anonymous call stating something would happen at Dickinson’s airport turned out to be a false alarm.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies to the Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport on Saturday after a caller said “something was going to happen,” Sheriff Clarence Tuhy said. The message referenced a plane that was taking off from the airport at about 1 p.m.

Law enforcement arrived at 11 a.m. and performed a parameter search. Bomb-sniffing dogs from Minot Air Force Base were brought in to search the area. After searching the airplane and area, deputies determined there was no threat at the airport and the plane was able to leave, Tuhy said. Law enforcement left the scene at about 2:15 p.m.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation, North Dakota Highway Patrol and Stark County Emergency Management also responded.
