Accident occurred June 12, 2014 at Dunsfold Aerodrome

The pilot of a helicopter that crashed at Dunsfold Aerodrome on Thursday suffered minor injuries in the incident

An investigation has been launched after a helicopter crashed at Dunsfold Aerodrome on Thursday (June 12).

Surrey Fire & Rescue Service sent contingency crews to the scene after the emergency landing at 5.40pm.

The helicopter pilot suffered minor injuries in the incident and was given first aid at the scene.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed and an investigation launched.

A spokesman from Dunsfold Aerodrome said: "At 5.40pm on Thursday 12th June an incident involving a helicopter and its pilot occurred at Dunsfold Aerodrome, Cranleigh, Surrey.

"Emergency procedures were immediately implemented. The pilot sustained minor injuries and was given immediate first aid by the fully trained medical staff who attended the incident within minutes.

"Dunsfold Aerodrome has instigated an immediate investigation into the incident and informed the Air Accident Investigation Branch.

"The Aerodrome remains open for business as usual."
