The location is the Eagle’s Nest Airport located in Ione, CA off of Ione Road. This venue is a private airport ideally configured for this event. The event organizers are expecting 300 or more entrees from throughout California and Nevada, and will feature vehicles in all categories from street rods to stock pre-1960, modified, foreign cars and more. Some trucks and antique railroad equipment will also be on display. Attendees will enjoy vehicles in over 20 judging categories.
That same day, the airshow will feature a WWII Hawker Sea Fury made by Hawker company in England. The Sea Fury is a heavy fighter and known for its imposing size and mass. Sanders Aeronautics, located on the Eagle’s Nest Airport will be performing the air show. All aircraft including the Hawker Sea Fury will be on display. Some lucky winner will ride in a P-51D Mustang aircraft the day of the show. Named Speed Ball Alice, this famous plane will be flown by American Airlines pilot Dan Vance. Raffle tickets for the P-51D ride are on sale locally at American River Bank and Clark’s Corner in Ione and JBs Awards in Jackson. Tickets are $20 each.
