Maybe it was looking to get out of town. ...

According to the Monroe County (Florida) Sheriff's office a 10-foot snake was captured at the Key West airport last week. The snake was found in the grass near the edge of a commercial ramp, according to a short notice posted on the Monroe County Sheriff's Office website.
