A plane made an
emergency landing Monday evening at Birmingham's airport, according to a
spokesperson at the Birmingham Airport Authority.
Birmingham
Airport Authority spokesperson Toni Herrera-Bast said the flight, which
was a commercial flight, originated in Birmingham. The plane took off
and then returned to the airport because of an unknown mechanical error.
"There
was an emergency landing, it was an aircraft emergency," Herrera-Bast
said. "It landed safely and it made it back to the gate without
incident."
Everyone on the flight is safe, Herrera-Bast said.
