DENVER -- United Express flight 5912 made an emergency landing at Denver International Airport on Tuesday.
The flight crew reported smoke in the cockpit on the flight from Peoria to Denver, forcing the emergency landing, according to officials at ExpressJet, who were operating the flight for United Express.
The plane landed safely without incident and the passengers were evacuated on the runway, said Allison Curtin, spokeswomen for ExpressJet.
A bus took the plane's 19 passengers to the concourse.
One passenger asked to be taken to the hospital, but Curtin did not know that person's injuries or medical condition.
Curtin said the airline is still trying to determine the cause of the smoke.
Runway Closed
Runway 34 R 16 L was closed for inspection, according to Denver International Airport spokeswoman Laura Cole.
Cole said it is standard procedure to inspect a runway if passengers are evacuated from a plane on the runway.
