Opinion: Queen City Airport as 'priceless' as Parkway. Allentown Queen City Municipal Airport (KXLL) Allentown, Pennsylvania

I have been involved with the stewardship of Queen City Airport in Allentown for nearly 20 years. We must keep in mind that the airport is part of the transportation infrastructure of this country just as is a bridge or a highway. In addition, Queen City is overseen by the Federal Aviation Administration as to its use and performance as an airport. That said, when the FAA transferred ownership to the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority it did that with the sole purpose that it was going to be operated as an airport. It was not given as an asset to be sold in the near future. Why do you think that the FAA took it away from the city? How about we sell the Little Lehigh Parkway to raise money for the city?

Once it is sold, could it be replaced? That's right, it's priceless. Same goes for Queen City Airport. It is priceless.
