  1. Bummer, i was at the field not long after- it was pretty gusty and mostly direct cross wind (I was not flying but at the hangar). It was windy enough I took a look at the weather around 2:00PM local (having no idea of the incident) and it was 20G30. IT would have definitely been pretty sporty and not anything I'd have wanted to do in my plane (RV-7A) and an Extra would have been quite a challenge. Talked with a couple other pilots and they had said they'd seen quite a few folks in GA going around and leaving the area earlier in the day.

    Hopefully no injuries and plane can be fixed.
