I was there on the day of this accident but did not see it as I was in my aircraft preparing to fly and faced the opposite direction from where this occurred. When started up and started my taxi out, that’s when noticed the accident. It was very windy that day- around 15-20 knots out of the south. I taxied to runway 16 but after my run up I noticed the wi SS had shifted out of the north. I then proceeded to taxi to the opposite end of the airport to runway 34. So, the wind was pretty good that day and I did see the accident helicopter out working the pattern and even doing some auto rotations I believe. Probably not the best day to be out doing that. I can’t help but think the strong winds that day had something to do with this accident.
