  1. and that's where an amphibious plane shines! assuming there are lakes around to perform an emergency landing on that is. And the best part, unlike doing an emergency landing of a non-amphibious plane on a bumpy field, is no risk of a prop strike! hey, those can be very expensive. No prop strike on a Lake (on a lake).
