FRANKLIN COUNTY, Kansas —One person was injured in an accident just after 12:30p.m. Saturday in Franklin County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1955 Swift GC-1B fixed wing airplane piloted by Wade Lee Mace, 66, Ottawa, was on the ground traveling westbound on Rock Creek Road attempting to get into the air.
The aircraft left the roadway, veered to the northwest losing power and crashed into the open field on the northeast corner of the intersection at Montana Road.
EMS transported Mace to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Authorities released no additional details.
