You can't see the nose gear from the cockpit, so the pilot knew the wheel was gone because:
ReplyDeleteA: Saw it go by following throttle up after porpoise -or-
B: Heard it swinging, then the noise stopped and nose rose -or-
C: Saw it on the ground while flying the pattern
