The pilot was landing the tailwheel and tundra tire-equipped airplane on a gravel surfaced runway. After touchdown, and as the airplane was rolling out in the three-point attitude, the airplane began to veer to the right. In an effort to correct for the veer, she applied left rudder and left brake but the airplane ground-looped to the right; subsequently, the left elevator impacted a runway edge light and the left wing struck the ground. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the left elevator and left wing. The pilot reported no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions that would have precluded normal operations.

In the recommendation section of the NTSB Accident/Incident Reporting Form 6120.1, the pilot stated that the accident may have been prevented if she had been more proficient in the accident airplane.
