PITTSFIELD, Illinois (WGEM) — The pilot of a helicopter walked away after it crashed on Thursday in Pike County, Illinois.

Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood stated that a helicopter being flown by Reiss Herbert, 26, of Perry, Louisiana, crashed shortly before 11:40 a.m. in a field north of Pittsfield while spraying a wheat field.

Greenwood stated that Herbert was uninjured in the crash of the Bell 206 Helicopter.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
