An ultralight plane made a hard landing at the airport in Ocotillo Wells Thursday morning and the pilot suffered minor injuries in the crash, authorities said.
The plane was found upside down at the airport, which is located in the 6000 block of state Route 78, said sheriff’s Lt. Glenn Giannantonio.
The pilot made a “hard landing” at the airport. When crews arrived, they found the plane with its wheels in the air, said CalFire Engineer James Magana, who responded to the crash. The pilot, a man, was being taken by paramedics to a hospital for treatment of what were believed to be minor injuries, Magana said.
