On March 11, 2018, about 1545 Pacific daylight time, a Navajo HKS, N1762C, was substantially damaged while landing at Arlington Municipal Airport (AWO), Arlington, Washington. The sport pilot had minor injuries. The experimental weight-shift-control aircraft was registered to and operated by an individual as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident and no flight plan was filed for the local flight.

According to the pilot, he was returning to his home airport. During the landing, he touched down on the main gear and lowered the nose wheel down during the landing roll. He subsequently applied the brakes and the trike skidded to the right and came to rest on its right side pointing in the opposite direction of landing. He stated that he applied more braking pressure than usual, because he landed further down the runway.

Initial examination of the airplane revealed that the wing, and its supporting structure were substantially damaged.
