GREENWOOD, Ind. (WTHR) - Greenwood Police are investigating the discovery of human remains Wednesday afternoon.
Police got a call around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday when a man discovered the remains while searching for his son, who has been missing for about five weeks.
The remains were found in an overgrown field off of South Emerson Ave., near the Indy South Greenwood Airport.
Police are only calling the case a "death investigation" at this time, but say foul play is not suspected.
The remains were taken to the coroner's office, who will conduct the investigation and try to identify the remains.
