No one was hurt when a single-engine aircraft landed on its belly on a runway at the Gillette-Campbell County airport shortly before noon Wednesday.

The pilot, Steve Barbour, and a passenger walked away from the Cessna 210 with no injuries. Barbour, a Gillette resident, declined to comment.

Airport employees and members of the Campbell County Fire Department responded to the scene and moved the plane from the runway a little over an hour after the crash, which happened at about 11:50 a.m.

As a result of the Cessna's gear-up landing, a regularly scheduled jet flight from Denver that was supposed to land in Gillette at 12:49 p.m. turned around and went back to Denver, said Michelle Martin, general manager for SkyWest Airlines. SkyWest operates the flight for United.

Martin said that flight will arrive late. Also delayed for about three hours was another flight to Denver, which was to take off at about 1:13 p.m. It's departure time was moved back to 4:13 p.m.

The flights to and from Gillette and Salt Lake City remain unaffected, as well as a late night flight from Denver.
