Aviation Safety: Human or Hazard?

Christine Negroni will be speaking at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University this week.

ERAU’s Aviation Safety and Security Archives presents Christine Negroni, the author of “Human or Hazard, the Role of the Pilot in Aviation Safety.”

Negroni has written about aviation and travel for The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune, Aircraft Interiors International Magazine, Air & Space, Airways, Executive Travel magazine and many others. She writes the blog, Flying Lessons, and is an on-camera contributor to CNN, ABC and NBC News.

On her website, Negroni explains, "My goal is to share with others the things I love; aviation and travel."

In addition to her media experience, Negroni served as the director of investigations for a New York aviation law firm from 2000-2008, being admitted to the International Society of Air Safety Investigators. She also served on an FAA rulemaking advisory committee on aging aircraft systems from 2000-2005. On two separate occasions, Negroni was almost nominated to the National Transportation Safety Board.

Negroni’s understanding of the aviation industry encompasses regulations, legal issues, safety hurdles, business needs and political aspects.

As an author, Negroni wrote the book, “Deadly Departure” after covering the crash of TWA Flight 800 for CNN. Her second book, The Crash Detectives, was written after the disappearance of Malasia Flight 370.
