It happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday evening in Louisa.
According to the Lawrence County Office of Emergency Management, there were two people on board the ultralight style aircraft.
Officials say they were taking off from a privately owned field.
Emergency crews say the passengers said they thought a gust of wind caused them to drift to the left into some trees and they weren't able to steer clear of the tops.
According to officials, the aircraft came down through the trees over an embankment.
One person was taken to the hospital. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.
Crews say the other was person was ok.
Louisa Fire, Netcare EMS, Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and Lawrence County Emergency Management all responded to the scene.
