Former airline revenue analyst pleads no contest to embezzling over $200K

A former revenue analyst for Virgin America at San Francisco International Airport pleaded no contest to embezzlement Monday for stealing more than $200,000 from the company in 2012 and 2013, prosecutors said Tuesday.

DeSonia Crossley, 43, of Pacifica, worked for the airline starting in December 2010. In August 2013, Crossley went on vacation and another analyst for Virgin America noticed numerous refunds were made to the same credit card, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

A company audit determined she had taken $224,750 through 108 fraudulent refunds between July 2012 and September 2013, prosecutors said.

Crossley was charged with embezzling more than $200,000 and entered the no contest plea Monday in exchange for a sentence of no more than a year in county jail, prosecutors said. She is scheduled to be sentenced on March 4.
