An aviation professional is suing an aircraft corporation, alleging negligence after the defendant’s aircraft collided with the plaintiff.
Wayne A. Sienkowski filed a lawsuit Sept. 1 against Net Jets, Aviation Inc., in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging negligence in the 2014 runway accident.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 21, 2014, Sienkowski was working in his capacity as an employee of Signature Aviation at Chicago’s Midway Airport, signaling an incoming aircraft’s pilot as he stood on the tarmac.
The suit states Net Jets, operating a Cessna 650XL aircraft at the plaintiff’s employer’s facility, failed to operate the aircraft safely, keep a sufficient lookout, and maintain visual contact with the plaintiff while he marshaled the craft to its designated location.
The lawsuit states the Net Jets pilot failed to decrease his speed to avoid colliding with the plaintiff, follow Sienkowski’s marshaling instructions, and to maneuver the plane appropriately.
The suit says the plaintiff sustained injuries of a personal, permanent and pecuniary nature.
Sienkowski seeks more than $75,000, plus attorney fees and costs. He is represented by attorney Michael Krzak of Clifford Law Offices in Chicago.
