An ultralight plane had to make an emergency landing Wednesday morning after losing fuel pressure near a west DeLand landfill, according to authorities.

“It was an emergency landing and there doesn’t appear to be any injuries,” Andrew Gant, a spokesman at the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.

Gant added that there were two people on board the fixed-wing, single-engine craft, which had been circulating the area for a period of time before making the emergency landing in a field around 1991 West Plymouth Ave. just before 9 a.m.

Details on where the craft originated from, or the identities of the people onboard were not immediately available, Gant said.
