Albuquerque-based Aspen
Avionics Inc. received approval from the FAA to offer airline companies
10 free trial hours of a new synthetic-vision software, the company said
in a news release.
The Evolution Synthetic
Vision software gives pilots a simulated display of terrain, obstacles
and traffic. The company says this makes it especially useful in
low-visibility situations.
The free trial of the
software will be included in each purchase of Aspen's EFD1000 Pro
Primary Flight Display. The full software sells for $2,995.
