Two people injured in light plane crash: Hwaseong, south of Seoul

HWASEONG, South Korea, June 26 (Yonhap) -- A small plane crashed into a beach in Hwaseong, south of Seoul, injuring a pilot and a tourist on board, fire and police officials said.

The HLC117 plane went down around 3:57 p.m. at the beach in front of the Goongpyeong amusement park in Hwaseong, 60 kilometers south of Seoul, they said.

The two were taken to nearby hospitals, where the 62-year-old passenger, surnamed Shin, remains in critical condition, the officials said.

The 52-year-old pilot, meanwhile, sustained minor injuries, they added.

The officials said they were examining the plane to determine the exact cause of the accident.
