A local aerospace manufacturer is launching its second new product this year.
Champion GSE — a division of Springfield-based The Champion Co. — unveiled an new engine stand this week that’s designed for small aircraft engines. It touts the stand, which 600-pound capacity, as a significant improvement in general aviation engine serviceability.
Todd DeVore, vice president and general manager of Champion GSE, said his company worked closely with Pinnacle Aircraft Engines to come up with the new design.
“The feedback we get directly from engine manufacturers is critical as we continue designing engine stands that make repairing and transporting engines cost effective, safe and efficient,” DeVore said.
Success with the new stands would provide additional sales for the company, which would go far to solidify its presence in the Dayton region.
In April, Champion GSE unveiled what it says is the first-ever, dual-purpose stand may be used for both the -1B and -2B GEnx engine platforms. ( Click here to read that story.)
