Pakistan Army Helicopter Crashes in Multan, Pilots Killed

Multan – A Pakistan army helicopter crashed at Multan Airport late on Wednesday night, leaving both pilots dead.

According to police, an army aviation helicopter crashed on the runway of Multan Airport due to a technical fault. Pilot Major Yasir and Captain Murtaza were killed on spot.

Some media reports suggested that reason of crash was windstorm. The helicopter was on a regular night training mission when the accident occurred.

A heavy contingent of police and army officials rushed to the following the incident, cordoned off the area and launched rescue operation.

It was the third incident that a Pakistan Army aircraft was crashed during a routine training flight in the last two months.

On June 3, at least four people including two pilot and co-pilot were killed and five others injured when a training aircraft of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed in Baldia Town area of Karachi.

On April 8, a trainer aircraft of PAF was crashed in Gujranwala due to a technical fault, leaving both pilot and co-pilot dead.
