Cayman Airways First Officer Ed Naused: Pilot hangs up his wings

Some 30 years ago, one pilot knew he’d be sitting in the cockpit of Cayman’s national carrier, but that has now come to an end. Welcomed in with a water cannon salute, Cayman Airways First Officer Ed Naused celebrated 30 years of flying and more than 17,000 hours of flight time.

Mr. Naused was surrounded by family, friends and coworkers as he firmly stepped foot on the ground after spending so long in the air. He said he has made many memories throughout the years.

“I’m not sure what I will miss most about flying. I will miss flying,” Mr. Naused said. “You know the last couple of days flying in here you look down and you look at the vista that’s unfolding in front of you,” he added.

Mr. Naused also said he hopes to take his instructors license and help teach future pilots, but for now he is happy sharing time with his family.
