PRABHUAP KHIRI KHAN - A trainer aircraft carrying two men crash landed on a beach about 600 metres from Hua Hin Airport on Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported.
The plane, an Austrian-built Diamond DA40D Diamond Star TDI, was heavily damaged. The two people on board were unharmed.
A witness said the aircraft appeared to malfunction shortly after takeoff.
Staff from the airport removed the remaining fuel from the plane as precaution against an explosion.
The cause of the incident was being investigated.
