Restaurant review: Downwind Cafe, Spruce Creek Fly-in: Spruce Creek Airport (7FL6), Port Orange, Florida

What a great find!

Sunday, 6 2 13, my daughter and I lunched at the Downwind Café, in the Spruce Creek Fly-In.

”The Second Great Joy in Life is Flying.

The First Great Joy in Life is Landing.”

One of the many cute signs posted in the restaurant.  I wonder if they have thought of broadcasting in the restaurant, the air radio frequency for the airport.  While we were there, one plane came passed the restaurant, and a few minutes later it went by us with guests in the plane.  By the way, a restaurant is being built in an airplane at the New Smyrna Beach Airport and may open sometime this year.

They can seat 60 people inside the Downwind café, and they have 7 tables outside the restaurant.

5 tables were occupied inside the restaurant at 1230 pm today.

Two of the staff were seated over on the side, wiping down already washed utensils.  That is nice to see.

There is a full size bar, separate but adjoining the eating area.
