Air-traffic control cuts show political dysfunction

3:46 PM, Mar 25, 2013

Opinion/Letters to the Editor

In the March 23 Press, there is an article, “Spending cuts to shut 149 air-traffic towers.”

What is Washington kidding? The article also stated, “The FAA has also announced that most of its 47,000 workers will have unpaid furloughs one day for every two-week pay period through the end of September.”

Why are we, the hard-working citizens of this country, having to cut back, give up, or totally do without, while all dysfunctional Washington politicians still get their salaries, vote themselves raises, get their pensions, health benefits and whatever other perks they can think of? What is wrong with this picture?

I personally have had enough. We need to totally clean house in Washington and start over now.
