Cessna 172N Skyhawk, VH-TKI: Plane crash probe considers need for powerline markers - Accident occurred October 29, 2012 near Bagshot, north of Bendigo Airfield - Australia

Investigators are looking at the requirements for powerline markers after a fatal plane crash near Bendigo.

The Cessna clipped a wire and crashed at Bagshot in October, killing a 77-year-old passenger from Melbourne and injuring two men, including the pilot.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau says there were no markers on the wire but that none were needed under the current standards for private landing strips.

A final report is due in June.
