Woman escapes plane after overshooting runway at Hoath’s Maypole Airfield – UK

Emergency services were called to Maypole Airfield near Herne Bay this afternoon after an aircraft crashed.

The drama unfolded when the plane overshot the runway at about 3.50pm.

Three fire engines arrived at the Maypole Road aerodrome, at Hoath, as a precaution.

A woman was out of the plane before the crews arrived and the aircraft was not on fire.

South East Coast Ambulance Service said crews were stood down on their way to the airfield.

Kent Police said officers were also at the scene.

Light aircraft overshoots runway in Hoath

Emergency services were called to Maypole Airfield in Hoath yesterday after a light aircraft overshot the runway.

A woman escaped from the plane unhurt, although the cause of the incident is yet unknown.

Kent Fire and Rescue crews were called to the aerodrome on Maypole Road, near Herne Bay, at 3.50pm but no action was taken by firefighters.

Police officers also attended the scene.
